Yes!  Haha!  This one is written.   *small cough* There might have been some creative difficulties during this process, please excuse the celebration.

Anyway, this fic is written by request of the wonderful .  It features her wonderful characters, Loop and Jay.  She wanted something written up that showed tenderness as well as a pivotal moment for Loop.  I swear I tried to keep Cherie out of it but the woman wasn't having any of it.  She insisted and got very, very cranky when I kept her out.  I think that may have been partially responsible for the writer's block for a bit.  

Things about this fic:
The world Loop is in suffered an event called The Cataclysm where several species of supernatural creatures were torn from their world and tossed into this one.  It's not clear why it happened.  Residents of the supernatural world, the one with dark elves, dwarves, etc. are the ones who know about the different species there.  The people from the world they came from don't share information about their old world readily.  It's considered a highly guarded secret.
The two different spellings of 'Cherie' was intentional.  "Cherie" is the name she took for herself.  "Cheri" is the French spelling when referring to a beloved, female with that spelling.  While Cherie is a person Loop cares a lot about, he is careful to make the distinction.
Yes, Loop cares about Cherie--in the best friend kind of way.  No, he is not in love with her, nor she with him.
